Job Summary
This position is based in the Corporate Office in Vancouver and is a full-time permanent position. Reporting to the Director, Corporate Controller, the Senior Corporate Accountant is an integral part of the corporate accounting team, responsible for the full cycle accounting duties for companies within the corporate group. This position will play a key role in the continued improvement in the standardization of the financial accounting and reporting processes, and will be working collaboratively with treasury, tax, legal, head office and operating site teams. The successful candidate is a self-starter and flexible, has a high level of integrity, is action and goal-oriented and enjoys working in a fast-paced, team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- · Oversees month end closing process for corporate entities and non-operating legal entities
- Reviews journals related to revenue recognition and other month end close entries prepared by Corporate Accountants
- Reviews month end schedules and reconciliations prepared by Corporate Accountant
- Reviews accounts payable entries to ensure timely payment of corporate invoices
- Reviews intercompany transactions, including intercompany invoices, and ensures they are properly recorded, reconciled and documented
- Prepares monthly and quarterly variance analysis for corporate entities
- Assists with the preparation of statement of cash flow for corporate entities
- Supports the preparation of company’s quarterly and annual external filings under International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
- Coordinates financial information requests with auditors and tax advisors
- Assists with the maintenance of adequate internal controls for monthly and quarterly Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) requirements
- Oversees indirect tax (GST and PST) reporting and compliance for corporate and non-operating legal entities
- Identifies and executes on opportunities to improve the quality and timeliness of corporate accounting processes
- Performs ad hoc financial reporting and other financial and non-financial duties and projects, as required.
- University degree in Accounting or other business-related field; CPA or equivalent designation
- Minimum 4 years of experience, preferably with a high-growth, multi-jurisdictional public company
- Comprehensive understanding of IFRS, financial analysis and public company reporting requirements
- Solid knowledge of internal control requirements relating to financial accounting and reporting
- Advanced user of Microsoft Excel and experience with SAP and OneStream strongly desired
- Team player with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build partnerships across the organization
- Attention to detail, with ability to work independently and manage multiple competing priorities and deadlines
- Mining industry experience is preferred.
- This position is eligible for Annual Short-Term Incentive bonus.

The salary range for this position is $90,000 to $110,000.
