- Maintaining accurate records for consolidated balance sheet accounts;
- Preparing complex journal entries;
- Reviewing cash-related and other journal entries prepared by team members;
- Preparing quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements and notes to the consolidated financial statements;
- Preparing quarterly and annual consolidated cash flows;
- Preparing quarterly binder and supporting working papers as well as reviewing documentation prepared by other team members;
- Preparing and reviewing quarterly and annual standalone entity financial statements and cash flows;
- Preparing quarterly and annual US GAAP standalone financial statements;
- Preparing and coordinating complex accounting transactions that occur in the year;
- Creating and maintaining documentation for accounting processes and policies;
- Creating, maintaining and/or revising system-generated accounting reports;
- Liaising with other functional groups on accounting matters as required;
- Upholding and promoting the Company’s core values; and
- Other tasks and duties as required.
- A recognized Canadian accounting designation (CPA) or close to completion is required.
- Minimum eight (8) years recent and proven corporate accounting experience including consolidation;
- Experience working within a complex, dynamic, and multi-entity environment;
- Working knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and good understanding of financial processes; and
- Experience in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
- Strong organization skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines;
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and excellent eye for accuracy;
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written;
- Excellent critical thinking skills with the ability to identify and solve problems;
- Highly motivated, with the ability to contribute and collaborate in an energetic and dynamic team environment;
