Qcells is seeking a Senior Data Center Power Systems Engineer to design and deliver resilient electrical power architectures for next-generation data center and microgrid environments.
This role will lead the design and integration of utility interconnections, battery energy storage systems (BESS), generators, and gas turbines into secure, scalable power infrastructure that supports mission-critical data center operations.
The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in modern electrical infrastructure for data centers, including microgrid coordination and high-density compute environments. This individual will play a key role in defining power system architecture, conducting electrical studies, and coordinating multi-source energy systems to ensure reliability, redundancy, and performance.
This is a senior-level engineering role responsible for driving electrical design strategy while coordinating with external consultants and internal teams to deliver robust, scalable power solutions.

- Design electrical power architectures for data centers and edge computing facilities
- Develop scalable infrastructure supporting 2–6 MW power environments
- Design and coordinate multi-source microgrid systems integrating utility power, BESS, generators, and gas turbines
- Lead electrical infrastructure planning for high-availability data center environments
- Architect resilient power systems supporting mission-critical uptime requirements
- Develop infrastructure designs to support high-density compute workloads
- Define redundancy strategies and reliability frameworks for data center environments
- Ensure electrical systems are optimized for performance, efficiency, and future capacity growth
- Integrate and coordinate multiple energy sources within microgrid architectures
- Design systems that coordinate utility interconnection, BESS, and backup generation
- Perform power system analysis and electrical studies to validate system performance
- Ensure reliable system coordination across multiple power sources
- Lead electrical design initiatives and coordinate with external engineering consultants
- Manage contractors and engineering partners responsible for producing detailed design packages
- Translate system architecture into implementation-ready engineering designs
- Provide technical leadership and guidance across internal teams and project stakeholders
- Work closely with data center infrastructure, operations, and energy teams
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure electrical infrastructure supports long-term platform needs
- Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure designs meet operational, reliability, and scalability goals
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- 8+ years of experience in power systems engineering, electrical infrastructure design, or data center power architecture- Experience designing electrical infrastructure for data centers, microgrids, or mission-critical facilities
- Strong knowledge of power system architecture, electrical distribution, and redundancy design
- Experience integrating multiple power sources including utility power, BESS, generators, or gas turbines
- Experience coordinating with engineering consultants and external contractors
- Ability to lead technical initiatives and manage complex engineering programs
- Travel may be required up to 20%, depending on business needs.
- Experience designing data center electrical infrastructure for hyperscale or edge computing environments
- Experience supporting microgrid deployments or distributed energy systems
- Knowledge of battery energy storage systems (BESS)
- Experience with power system modeling, electrical studies, and grid integration
- Familiarity with infrastructure supporting high-density compute environments
- Experience working with cloud infrastructure or large-scale data center operations
- Professional Engineering (PE) license is preferred
