POSITION OVERVIEW:
This position is responsible for the procurement of a wide range of materials, equipment and services for Versant Power. Responsible for sourcing suppliers, quoting, analyzing, negotiating, awarding, and effectively managing multiple year contracts as well as procurement functions related to business projects.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
•Serves as an approved agent to request and receive informal quotations to procure materials, equipment and services for all Versant Power stockrooms, projects and facilities. Aids in the preparation of formal Requests for Information, Requests for Quotes, and/or Requests for Proposals and assists in the evaluation of quotes and bids.
•Develops and maintains supplier relations and works to successfully include minority businesses opportunities in purchasing.
•Resolves discrepancies, claims, and disputes over material, deliveries, receipts, and invoices. Provides warranty enforcement as required.
•Works collaboratively with ENMAX Corporation while ensuring internal customer satisfaction, efficiency and economical pricing for materials, equipment and services.
•Maintains a working knowledge of utility materials, vehicles, office/facility and other electrical system components.
•Understands, administers and works within established Procurement Guidelines including regularly reviewing the Procurement Guidelines to make recommendations based on current trends in supply management and practical application within the Company in accordance with corporate strategies.
•Deals with suppliers and company employees honestly and professionally without reciprocity adhering to the Company’s Code of Conduct.
•Assists in projects and performs other duties and responsibilities as directed by Manager.
•Works in accordance with the documented environmental procedures, instructions, and specific responsibilities as defined in individual procedures and instructions. Reports problems or deviations associated with environmental issues and the Environmental Management System (EMS) to the Environmental Department.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Serves as an approved agent to request and receive formal quotations to procure material, equipment, and services for Versant Power and to commit funds for all procurement transactions up to a designated authority levels established by Company policy.
•Participates in cross-functional teams to identify and recommend improvement solutions to issues relative to supply chain.
•Collaborates with material requestors on Standards and Material Quality Assurance Departments' new or alternate materials, changes in specifications, manufacturing schedules, delivery lead times, prices and other pertinent costs.
•Demonstrates a working knowledge of federal, state and local agency laws, regulations and ordinances that pertain to procurement practices.
•Identify, qualify and develop new suppliers for sourcing the identified commodities.
•Performs other related duties as assigned, including designated duties associated with System Restoration.
REQUIRED OR PREFERRED EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE:
•Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering or related field is preferred.
•CPM or CPSM certification by the Institute of Supply Management
•Four years related work experience must be related to a materials discipline; procurement, inventory management, warehouse management, operations or engineering.
•Working knowledge in an ERP environment.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
•Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite and Oracle Financials. Demonstrated good understanding of inventory and purchasing practices and policies.
•Position requires strong leadership and organizational skills.
•Must be capable of effectively managing through multiple priorities.

WORK HOURS:
•Usual work hours are Monday through Friday. Working 40 hours is expected.
PAY:
•Pay will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
