Performs assignments related to the procurement of materials from suppliers. Responsible for interaction with approved vendors, assuring the timeliness of delivery and accuracy of orders, and following up with vendors when there is a problem with delivery.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Purchase quality products with timely deliveries at the best price.
•Expedite current purchase orders for delivery.
•Review and approve technical and administrative content of purchasing documentation.
•Provide information to the Purchasing Manager, as required, for monthly reports.
•Perform all clerical requirements to process purchase orders
•Develop reliable sources and relationship with suppliers
•Discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, vendors, and other to determine source of trouble and take corrective action.
•Maintain ethical conduct with all supplier relations.
•Maintain open communication lines with other departments.
•Perform various other duties as assigned by supervisor
•Communicate delays in delivery to various departments within the company
QUALIFICATIONS:
•Minimum 2 plus years of buying experience and/or have a 4 year degree.
•ERP experience preferred
•Strong computer application usage (i.e. Excel, Outlook, and Word)
•Buying experience with raw materials and/or machine parts preferred
•Oil and gas purchasing a plus
•Good verbal communication skills.
•Purchasing and negotiating skills.
•Must be a people person/outgoing
•Must be able to problem solve
