Job Overview:
The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing the accounting functions operations, preparing financial reports, ensuring accurate record-keeping, and providing guidance on budgeting and financial planning. The ideal candidate is experienced in construction accounting principles and practices, highly organized, and able to work independently and know QuickBooks inside out. This role requires a commitment to accuracy, efficiency, and strong financial oversight.
Key Responsibilities:
•Manage General Ledger: Oversee the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and properly classified. Full general ledger and treasury responsibility, including asset protection, A/P and A/R oversight, limited inventory control, sales tax reporting, and monthly, quarterly, and annual closing. Accounting and payroll data processing and oversight utilizing Intuit QuickBooks Pro Contractor's Edition and Pump Magic dispatching Program. Will coordinate parts of this with dispatcher and other employees. Coordinate with outside accounting firm for annual income tax returns and compiled financial statements
•Financial Reporting: Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
•Reconciliations: Conduct regular bank reconciliations, credit card reconciliations, and other account reconciliations to ensure accuracy.
•Accounts Payable & Receivable: Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring timely and accurate payments and collections.
•Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in the budgeting process, providing insights, projections, and tracking performance against budget.• Month-End & Year-End Close: Perform month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries and adjustments.• Audit Preparation: Prepare financial documents and support the audit process, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.• Tax Compliance: Assist in tax preparation, including gathering information for income tax returns and ensuring compliance with relevant tax regulations.• Policy & Procedure Development: Develop, implement, and monitor accounting policies and procedures to maintain financial control and integrity.
•Process Payroll and handle all payroll related transactions (Paperwork-Employee Files-Payroll deductions, Workers' compensation reports. etc.);
Employee Health Insurance;
•Oversee and manage intercompany transactions;
•Assist CPA’s requests;
•File Sales Tax;
•AIA Billing;
•Certified Payroll (if needed);
•Item List – Asset Management entry;
•Job Portals data entry;
•Reconciliations for all entities;
•Oversee transactions and manage Bookkeeper/project accountant.
Qualifications:
•Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
•Experience: Minimum of 10 years of construction accounting experience.
•Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks Desktop-8-10 years of experience) and strong Microsoft Excel skills.
•Knowledge: In-depth understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and financial reporting standards.
•Skills: Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and effective communication skills.
•Time Management: Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently on a part-time schedule.
Working Hours:
•Full-time, typically 35-40 hours per week, with flexibility on workdays and hours depending on organizational needs.

Pay: $85,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
