Job Summary:
The Senior Accountant will report directly to the Accounting Manager/Controller and will play a critical role in their financial operations. You will be responsible for a wide range of accounting functions, including but not limited to; month-end closing activities, balance sheet reconciliation, intercompany transactions, journal entries, GL accounts, variance analysis, process improvement, and supporting audits.
Key Responsibilities:
•Lead the month-end close process, including preparation of required analysis, calculations, closing entries, and creation of monthly financial statements
•Performs complex accounting and analysis over high sensitivity and risks areas
• Prepares journal entries, reconciliations, and audit schedules; and researches and analyzes historical accounting data
•Maintains current working knowledge and reviews/monitors for adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
•Performs the following (assesses, recommends, designs, implements, formally documents, maintains, and monitors) systems and processes to provide visibility, control, and compliance with company policy, government regulations, and to drive efficient and effective accounting operations
•Serves as backup in providing accounting and systems guidance and training within Finance & Accounting and to external departments
•Performs special projects as assigned (e.g., budget projections support, analyses to support Management, systems implementation, etc.)
Qualifications:
•Bachelor's degree in Accounting, and CPA preferred
•Minimum five years progressively responsible and related professional level accounting experience
•At least 2 years of experience in public accounting, preferred
•Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to select appropriate means of communication
•Ability to explain and concisely document complex accounting concepts and key processes and controls
•Proficiency with accounting software (preferably Infor-CSD, Sage, Visual Lease, OneStream)
•Advance Excell skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data analysis)
•Experience reading and interpreting contracts, analyzing issues, defining problems, processing transactions in a timely and consistent manner, and adhering to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
•Experience and/or ability to implement new pronouncements and writing technical memos
•A general understanding of processes and controls, including experience providing recommendations and implementing remediations
•Self-starter with solid organizational skills and ability to effectively manage multiple priorities or re-prioritize projects
Working Conditions
•Time sensitive reporting deadlines requiring periodic overtime, typically surrounding quarter and year- end periods.
•Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
•Office environment limited and infrequent travel.
•Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
•May be required to work additional hours or weekends during peak periods.
•Hybrid work environment; 3-days onsite per week with 2-days remote.
Compensation is between $85,000 and $100,000 per annum.
