Supports and assists the Financial Accounting and Reporting Supervisor in developing, implementing and maintaining financial accounting and reporting procedures. This includes, but is not limited to, preparing and analyzing financial reports, ensuring that all financial reports are in accordance with company policies and generally accepted accounting principles, and assisting with the annual audit.
- Financial Accounting and Reporting
- Prepare and review month-end close reports, quarterly and annual financial statements, and analyses to ensure accuracy and compliance with U.S. GAAP standards
- Research proper accounting treatment for various accounting matters as they arise
- Support acquisition and strategic transaction activity (PPAs, settlement statements, etc.)
- Prepare and analyze variances in operating results and financial position
- Assist with preparation of ad hoc reporting, providing in-depth analysis of trends, variances, and key metrics for management review
- Oversee and assist with documentation for and support of the annual external audits to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and enhance organizational transparency
- Assist with the preparation and review of G&A analysis
- Maintain knowledge of U.S. GAAP and technical accounting principles to ensure ongoing compliance with financial reporting standards
- Process Improvement
- Actively assist with special projects, initiatives, and process improvements, contributing to the continuous improvement of our operations.
- Streamline, standardize and automate reporting capabilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, M.S. degree is a plus
- 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in oil and gas or a related industry, public accounting experience a plus- Experience with acquisitions and divestitures activity a plus
- Experience and proficiency with ERP accounting systems
- Advanced knowledge of Excel
- Financial reporting experience preferred
- Strong technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting standards a plus
- CPA or CPA candidate a plus
