In this vital role, reporting to the SCM Manager, you’ll take charge of inventory performance across Suncor, with a special focus on critical spare parts. Your strategic approach will ensure the timely completion of major projects!
- Oil and Gas experience
- A Supply Chain or Operations professional designation (eg. Apics / ASCM - CPIM, CSCP, and/or CLTD)
- 6+ years’ work experience with Inventory and Operations Management- Advanced understanding of Material Requirements Planning (MRP), Materials Management strategies, and formulas for statistical analysis using material criticality, service levels, and standard deviation for determining stocking decisions
- Experience in performing exploratory data analysis for inventory demand, material MRP master data, and material consumption patterns
- Advanced Technical competency in SAP S/4; Extensive knowledge with the SAP Material Management (MM) modules; familiarity with the SAP Plant Maintenance (PM) and Enterprise Warehouse Management (EWM) module and material master MRP settings
- Expertise in Microsoft Excel, PowerBI, ServiceNow, MS Office
- Effectively manage inventory performance and optimization for Suncor wide Inventory including critical spare parts to ensure reliable operation of Suncor plants and/or completion of major projects, thereby avoiding increased costs and reduction in profitability.
- Govern material master MRP data integrity to ensure the compliance to our Material Requirements Planning (MRP) parameter matrix for SAP materials along with Inventory Planning standards, processes, guidelines, and procedures.
- Identify and mitigate risks to internal customer inventory supply by developing alternate processes, channels, or strategies.
- Define and scope necessary SAP inventory reporting and supplemental systems to continuously improve management of company stocks
- Develop and implement processes and solutions to manage inventory stock levels while balancing the preservation of working capital.
- Develop recommendations, facilitate, action, and report on inventory optimization and improvement projects through analysis of transaction histories, business needs, and facilities constraints.
- Provide on-going development, support, and training of processes to internal clients in the areas of inventory management, demand planning, and stocking strategies.
- Apply expertise of inventory classification, control, and planning processes to analyze and report on inventory metrics, control issues, and carrying costs.
- Provide the business with visibility and understanding of financial risk associated with excess & obsolete inventory.
- Accountable to the maintenance and governance of the Inventory Management standard and documented processes and procedures.
- Support the Asset Recovery process for approved surplus inventory disposal and recovery.
- Ensure SOX Audit compliance for DOA approvals to inventory Stock Plan order control changes.
- Coaching other staff/training: Must serve as a technical resource for other company staff and be able to translate technical information for non-technical audiences
- Work requires the management of client and senior leader expectations
- You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W.
- Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday
