U.S. Pipe and Foundry is seeking talent to join our Scheduling and Inventory Planning team as a Scheduler. This position develops production schedules that meet inventory and service targets and allow for the plant to operate at optimum process and cost efficiencies as well as manage finished goods inventories to minimize the generation of excess / slow moving material.
- Manages production schedule(s) based on sales order demand and inventory targets.
- Maintains ERP and plant systems to keep updated and accurate production plan information.
- Creates and distribute daily casting schedule.
- Provides sales with timely information regarding lead-times and status of production and inventory positions.
- Approves new product SKUS in ERP.
- Assists operations in tracking production from point of cast to posting as finished goods.
- Generate reports and performance metrics that support various supply chain initiatives.
- Performs other duties as required by the Director of Supply Chain, such as providing coverage for absent schedulers, training new employees, and assisting physical inventory counts
- Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Logistics, or a related field.
- Certified in Planning and Inventory Management (CPIM) certification is a plus.
- 2 – 3 years’ experience with production, inventory, and/or scheduling, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Microsoft Office software proficiency, Exposure to ERP software, particularly JDE, is helpful.
- Well-developed math proficiency, oral and written communication skills, and the ability to work in a team environment.
- Needs to be well organized and demonstrate problem solving skills and ability.
- The employee will be working in an office environment, infrequent business travel required.
- The employee will also be exposed occasionally to plant facilities and yards (heat, cold, noise, dust, and machinery).
