Job Summary
Freeport LNG is currently recruiting for a turnaround scheduler with experience in developing integrated turnaround schedules using Primavera P6 to support our turnaround team. The ideal candidate will have experience in the Oil & Gas industry, specifically experience working on complex Turnarounds.
The Turnaround Scheduler is responsible for the development and maintenance of all turnaround schedules using P6, progress tracking/forecasting, progress reports and scheduling analysis, monitor and analysis of contractor schedules, providing support and assistance to the client team to maximize visibility of schedule status and progress.
This position is based at the Terminal Facility, LQF or PTF, with travel to off-site locations as required. This position requires the incumbent to hold a valid, unexpired driver license at all times in order to perform the essential functions of the job.
- Ability to create & maintain a level 4/5 turnaround schedule using P6
- Ability to update the turnaround schedule to reflect field progress and forecast dates accurately
- Prepare Turnaround progress tracking and progress histogram reports
- Develop Turnaround critical path and analysis
- Ability to update P6 schedules with accurate progress in a short period
- Expert in using SAP to view Work Orders and Job plans as related to P6
- Develop progress management systems to track and visualize Turnaround progress
- Prepare the Work Breakdown and Coding Structures for control and integrity of work to be performed as defined by the Planners or Contractor
- Ability to create schedule look-ahead layouts for distribution to craft teams and contractors, ensuring clear visibility of upcoming work and resource need
- Participate in project and turnaround schedule reviews & schedule update meetings
- Monitor and track scope and change control
- Ensures the development and completion of job progress milestones through scheduling
- Assist in the development and approval of contractor baseline schedules
- Under general direction, uses specialized knowledge or skills to solve complex and unique problems, or direct the daily activities of a business, technical support, or functional support within Turnaround project controls
- Ensure that required contract project controls deliverables and guidelines are appropriately implemented and maintained
- Ensures the credibility of the information contained in the Turnaround schedule.
- Monitors and updates schedule progress toward achieving the desired completion date and informing management team of changes to schedule outcome.
- Prepares and provides schedule progress reports, trending charts, and schedule analysis and reports forecasts for all significant project activities. Analyzes the effects to the critical path activities; identifies changes to the project that affect the schedule, and develops the recovery schedules and alternate courses of action.
- Promotes an atmosphere conducive to the open exchange of new ideas, and alternatives to orthodox approaches.
- Ability to build turnaround / project schedules using P6 with multiple schedules and schedulers

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management or related field or 12 years related Industry work experience
- Minimum of 10 years of scheduling experience using Primavera P6 for major turnarounds
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience with Turnaround Planning and Scheduling using P6
- Min 7 years’ experience using SAP
- Expert Level using Primavera P6 scheduling software
- Expert Experience in performing, monitoring, and reviewing schedules using P6
- Proficiency with PC operating systems, with proficiency in several basic software applications. Proficiency with multiple discipline specific software applications (Excel, SAP, Primavera and Microsoft Office Applications, PowerBi for example).
- Experience and understanding of Earned Value Management.
- Skilled in oral and written communication.
- Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
- Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
- Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
- Knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and construction management.
- Knowledge in design scheduling, construction scheduling, program scheduling, and cost & resource loading. This includes developing detailed WBS, milestones, activities definition, logical sequences, durations, activity dependencies and interdependencies, and activity contingencies.
- Understanding of schedule models and methods, schedule quality analysis, schedule strategy, schedule integration techniques, Monte Carlo Analysis, schedule performance analysis techniques.
HSE Roles and Responsibilities
Support the policies, efforts, and programs of Freeport LNG Health, Safety and Environmental Management System. Assist in the development of action plans and objectives. Actively participate in the HSE Management System Policies. Ensure that HSE concerns are given priority in all activities completed within their area of responsibility. Implement routine inspections to ensure safe operating conditions.
Working Conditions and Physical Expectations
Working Conditions:
This position operates in an office environment. However, while performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to operate within an industrial plant environment.
- Routinely uses standard office and field communications equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers w/scanner and fax, and radios.
- Exposure to indoor and outdoor weather conditions.
- Not necessarily protected from weather and temperature changes. Possible exposure to hot, cold, wet, humid or windy weather conditions.
- Exposure to moving mechanical parts and electrical circuits, being exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
- Exposure to constant, or intermittent sounds of a pitch level sufficient to cause marked distraction.
