Position:
The Sales Manager will drive hydrogen sales, market expansion, and strategic partnerships, positioning Independence Hydrogen as a leader in the clean energy transition. Reporting to the Head of Business Development, this role will focus on business development, revenue growth, and industry influence.
As Sales Manager you will:
•Drive sales and constantly look for opportunities to analyze and improve the existing sales funnel
•Execute the full sales cycle, to include prospecting, contract negotiation, and closing deals with clients
•Negotiate and structure agreements for hydrogen supply, pricing models, and long-term partnerships
•Develop and execute GTM strategies and sales plans to drive adoption of hydrogen solutions in target markets
•Maintain a deep understanding of competitive landscape, emerging technologies, and evolving customer needs in hydrogen and clean energy sectors
•Analyze industry trends, regulatory shifts, and macroeconomic factors to shape and enhance Independence Hydrogen’s market position
•Build and manage relationships with energy developers, industrial customers, and government stakeholders to create new sales opportunities
•Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, project management, procurement, and legal teams to align sales efforts with operational goals
•Represent Independence Hydrogen at industry conferences, networking events, and trade associations to enhance brand visibility and business development opportunities
•Monitor sales performance metrics, market feedback, and pricing strategies to optimize revenue growth
•Coordinate and collaborate with the commercial team, ensuring effective market coverage and strong client relationships
•Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
•Extensive knowledge of clean hydrogen applications in the U.S. and energy transition strategies
•Proven track record in sales leadership, business development, and strategic partnerships within hydrogen or related energy industries
•Bachelor's degree or higher in a related discipline
•8+ years of experience in technical sales, energy markets, or hydrogen commercialization
•Strong negotiation skills, with experience structuring agreements in the energy sector
•Entrepreneurial mindset, self-starter attitude, and ability to work independently while driving team success
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to diverse stakeholders
•Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, particularly in customer solutions and identifying market growth opportunities
•Familiarity with process safety, risk assessment, and compliance standards in the hydrogen industry
•Willingness to travel (expected 25% or less)
