Position Overview
Premier Metal is seeking an Inside Sales Representative to support inbound sales activity, strengthen customer relationships, and help ensure smooth service execution across our Rochester operations. This role works closely with dispatch, operations, and leadership to support both industrial and retail customers.
The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment where no two days are the same.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle inbound sales inquiries from industrial and retail customers
- Respond to pricing requests, service questions, and general account needs
- Collaborate closely with dispatch and operations to:
- Schedule service
- Coordinate pickups and deliveries
- Resolve day-to-day customer issues
- Support existing customer relationships through consistent communication and follow-up
- Track customer activity, service needs, and basic account information
- Assist with onboarding new customers and supporting account transitions
- Manage Premier Metal’s loyalty program and retail customer strategy, including:
- Customer communication and engagement
- Supporting retail pricing initiatives and promotions
- Cross-train in multiple areas of the business to gain a broad understanding of operations
- Serve as operational backup as needed to support coverage and continuity
- Strong communication and people skills
- Comfortable working with industrial and blue-collar customers
- Organized, responsive, and detail-oriented
- Able to juggle multiple priorities and adjust as needs change
- Willing to learn different parts of the business and step in where needed
- Team-oriented mindset with a practical, problem-solving approach- 2+ years in inside sales, customer service, logistics, or account support
- Industrial, recycling, logistics, or manufacturing experience preferred
- Comfortable using phones, email, and basic computer systems
- CRM or order management experience a plus
- Scrap or commodities experience helpful, but not required
