Delta Fuel Company, a leading fuel and lubricant distributor, is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Sales Support Specialist to join our team in the Shreveport market. This role is critical in supporting the sales team by strengthening customer relationships, ensuring operational follow-through, and helping drive revenue growth through quoting, collections, and proactive customer service. In addition, this position will be responsible for maintaining and servicing designated house accounts for the Shreveport branch.
- Act as a primary point of contact for customer inquiries, providing timely and professional responses.
- Support the sales team in maintaining and strengthening long-term customer relationships.
- Partner with sales representatives to identify customer needs and coordinate solutions.
- Manage accurate account and location set ups in ERP systems.
- Maintain and grow house accounts assigned to the Shreveport branch, ensuring consistent service and retention.
- Maintain a proactive approach to customer complaints, requests to expedite, and any other customer issues.
- Generate and track open quotes and follow up with customers to support sales closure.
- Coordinate and expedite customer orders, ensure customer requirements are understood, and customers are kept informed of relevant issues.
- Monitoring customer order status and reporting to Supervisor on stagnant orders.
- Ensure prior days’ orders were delivered without a hitch and inform sales of any issues.
- Partner with accounting to monitor customer account balances and support collection efforts.
- Communicate with customers regarding outstanding invoices and payment status.
- Assist sales team with credit applications and required customer documentation.
- Work closely with AR department to assist with accurate and timely invoice submission.
- Ensure all POs are on relevant orders.
- Work closely with dispatch, logistics, and operations to ensure smooth delivery coordination for customers.
- Assist sales team with preparing meeting materials for customer visits.
- Provide general administrative support as needed to enable sales team productivity.
