We have an exceptional opportunity for a strategic hands-on Quality/Safety Manager (EHS) at our Kosciusko, Mississippi location.
POSITION SUMMARY
This position oversees the safety and quality functions of the company, and has responsibility for the quality assurance health, safety and environmental functions by ensuring that the company's products and services meet quality standards and that operations are safe and compliant.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES
· Safety: Develop and manage programs to prevent injuries, assess operational processes, and provide training on accident prevention, product and process safety, and good work practices
· Quality: Monitor and advise on product quality, review customer feedback, and assist in creating production plans for new products
· Compliance: Ensure that the company's quality, health, safety, and environmental (QHSE) polices are followed, and that all personnel and equipment is in compliance with regulations.
•Conducting investigations and root cause analysis
•Coordinating and implementing standards and procedures
•Auditing systems and procedures to identify and implement improvements
•Assisting management with workplace inspections
•Supervision of quality and safety personnel and departmental functions
•Developing and administering recognition systems to promote safe work performance
•Documenting and reporting workplace incident reports and quality issues in a timely and accurate manner
•Ensuring compliance with regulatory bodies and standards (OSHA, EPA, BWC, etc.)
•Conducting audits and reviews of existing quality, health and safety policies
•Advising employees on quality and safety procedures, conducting training sessions
•Addressing incidents and injuries in a timely manner; recommending corrective actions as needed
•Managing the company’s safety and quality assurance programs by working closely with the operations team
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
•Familiarity with Workers Compensation policies, and OSHA and EPA regulatory agencies
•Understanding of relevant Quality Assurance and Health & Safety regulations and guidelines
•Sound judgment and decision-making skills
•Good written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills
•Ability to influence strategy and collaborate with company leadership
•Comfortable multi-tasking, working under pressure, and managing tight timelines
•Technical writing skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications or similar software
•Familiarity with project management and budgeting
•First aid, CPR and any other relevant workplace injury prevention training
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
· Associates or Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Systems/Production Management, Engineering, Occupational Safety, or similar field is highly desired
· Five to eight years of experience in Quality Assurance
· Five to eight years of experience in Health, Safety and Environmental
· OSHA 10/30 certified
· Certified Trainer: Forklift, Respiratory Fit Test, MEWP Instructor
· Candidates with experience conducting risk assessments, teaching workplace safety and quality control measures, and ensuring compliance are ideal
•Developing, implementing and interpreting goals, objectives, policies, procedures, work standards and internal controls
•Analyzing complex problems, evaluating alternatives, and making recommendations
•Exercising sound, independent judgment within general policy guidelines
•Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of the work
