Marathon Petroleum Company LP has an opening for a Safety Manager at its refinery located in Salt Lake City, Utah. This position is located in the Environmental, Safety & Security (ESS) organization and reports to the Director, Environmental, Safety & Security.
This refinery leadership position is responsible for implementing industry best practices related to occupational safety and emergency response that are consistent with company policies and procedures for safe work practices, injury prevention, fire prevention/protection initiatives and risk reduction, emergency preparedness and response and contractor safety management. The Safety Manager supports the Refinery’s commitment for continuous improvement of Environmental, Health, Safety and Security performance. The Safety Manager evaluates personnel and fosters the technical safety knowledge, safety leadership, and career development of their staff.

This position belongs to a family of jobs with increasing responsibility, competency and skill level. It is currently posted at a Grade 13 level. Actual position title and pay grade will be based on the selected candidate’s experience and qualifications.
