Job Summary: The Safety Coordinator will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing safety programs and procedures related to our solar energy projects. This role plays a crucial part in fostering a culture of safety and ensuring compliance with all relevant safety regulations and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

- Safety Program Development: Develop and maintain comprehensive safety programs and procedures tailored to the solar industry, addressing potential hazards and risks specific to solar projects.

- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations, as well as industry-specific standards and best practices.

- Safety Training: Develop and deliver safety training programs for employees, contractors, and project stakeholders. Ensure that employees are aware of and trained on safety protocols.

- Incident Reporting: Implement and manage an incident reporting system, investigate incidents and accidents, and recommend corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.

- Safety Audits: Conduct regular safety audits and inspections of worksites and equipment to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety policies.

- Emergency Response: Develop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures, including evacuation and first-aid protocols.

- Safety Communication: Promote a culture of safety by effectively communicating safety guidelines, best practices, and updates to all team members.

- Safety Records: Maintain accurate safety records, incident reports, and documentation as required by regulatory agencies.

- Safety Committees: Lead or participate in safety committees to gather input from employees and improve safety practices.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, environmental science, or a related field. Relevant safety certifications (e.g., CSP, CIH, CHST) are a plus.

- Proven experience in safety coordination, preferably in the solar or construction industry.

- OSHA 30 (commitment to work towards 500) and thorough understanding of OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards.

- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively convey safety information to diverse audiences.

- Public speaking skills and ability to create and present training materials to a diverse group.

- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

- Familiarity with safety management systems and software.

- A commitment to promoting and maintaining a culture of safety.

Salary: $60-65K
