The Midwest Hose Safety Coordinator (Administrative Focus) supports the safety and compliance efforts of MWH by providing administrative oversight, recordkeeping, and coordination of safety programs and policies. This role ensures that accurate recordkeeping, compliance with OSHA, USDOT, and the MWH company safety program, safety documentation, training records, inspections, compliance reports are maintained accurately and up to date, and efficient coordination of workers’ compensation claims. The Safety Coordinator assists in implementing company safety policies, supporting managers and supervisors with safety initiatives, and acting as a central point for safety-related communication and reporting.
- Maintain safety-related documentation, including incident reports, training records, inspection reports, and compliance filing.
- Track employee safety training, certifications, and required renewals.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly safety reports for review.
- Assist in scheduling and documenting safety meetings, drills, and training sessions.
- Distribute and post safety policies, communications, and awareness material.
- Support managers and supervisors in documenting corrective actions from safety incidents and inspections.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for workers’ compensation claims throughout MWH.
- Accurately complete and submit required incident reports to the Safety Manager and HR, the insurance carrier, and regulatory agencies.
- Maintain confidential workers’ compensation files and claim status updates.
- Track claim progress and assist with return-to-work programs.
- Monitor injury trends and provide data to management for safety improvements.
- Schedule and document safety meetings, trainings, and drills.
- Support managers and supervisors in rolling out safety initiatives.
- Assist in developing and distributing safety programs and awareness materials.
- Act as the administrative lead for the safety program.
- Track and file safety inspection reports.
- Compile incident data for trend analysis and corrective action follow-up.
- Support OSHA recordkeeping and prepare OSHA 300/300A logs as required.
- Assist in documentation of all DOT related files.
- Assist in compliance in all DOT vehicles.
- Assist in DOT inspections on all DOT vehicles.
- Assist managers and supervisors with documenting corrective actions after safety incidents, inspections, or audits.
- Coordinate scheduling of inspections, audits, and compliance.
- Coordinate communication between employees, managers, supervisors, HR, Safety Manager, and insurance representatives.
- Maintain confidentiality and accuracy in all employee safety-related records.

- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- 2+ years of administrative experience, preferably in safety, warehouse, or manufacturing environments.- Strong organizational and recordkeeping skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations, insurance and/or workers’ compensation, and warehouse safety practices (preferred but not required).
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks with attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Highly organized with strong recordkeeping ability.
- Strong problem-solving and follow-up skills.
