Foran Mining Corporation (TSX:FOM) is a forward-thinking mining company redefining the industry. We are seeking a Safety Coordinator to join our growing McIlvenna Bay team. This is a full-time position based at the McIlvenna Bay site working a 14/14 rotation.

As part of the Health & Safety Team, the Safety Coordinator will be responsible for assisting in the development, implementation, maintenance and continual improvement of safety programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and foster a safety mindset at all levels of the organization.
- Stay informed about federal, provincial/state, and local safety regulations.
- Ensure organizational compliance with applicable health and safety laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Manage, regularly review and update safety policies and programs, including legislatively required reviews.
- Prepare and submit required safety reports to regulatory authorities.
- Assist in the development and implementation of comprehensive safety programs, policies, and procedures.
- Develop, organize, and deliver safety training programs and materials for employees, contractors, and visitors.
- Facilitate safety meetings and committee activities as prescribed in the Saskatchewan OHS Act & 2020 Regulations.
- Ensure effective communication of safety-related information to all employees.
- Lead and facilitate hazard identification and risk assessment (HIRA) activities.
- Conduct regular workplace inspections, safety audits, and hazard analyses to identify risks and areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with managers to address safety issues and corrective actions.
- Lead, assist, or act as a resource in investigations of unwanted events to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain incident records, investigation findings, and related documentation.
- Serve as the designated Mine Rescue Coordinator, overseeing training programs, emergency response plans, evacuation procedures, first aid protocols, and firefighting plans (with execution delivered by the PCP/ERT Coordinator).
- Promote a strong safety culture by encouraging active participation in safety initiatives and reporting.
- Recognize and reward safety achievements and contributions across the organization.
- Maintain accurate safety-related records (incident reports, meeting minutes, training records).
- Manage and distribute personal protective equipment (PPE) for employees as required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Certification as a Safety Officer/Coordinator or in occupational health and safety (e.g., Canadian Registered Safety Professional, Certified Safety Professional, National Construction Safety Officer) preferred.
- Mine Rescue training and experience.
- First Aid and CPR certification considered an asset.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in health and safety coordination or a related role.
- In-depth knowledge of applicable health and safety regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Strong communication, presentation, and training skills.
- Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities with keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in safety software, tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Flexible, creative thinker with a willingness to learn and grow.
We offer a competitive starting salary range of $120,000 - $140,000/year based on experience and qualifications. Annual discretionary short term incentive award at a percentage of base salary, rewarding exceptional contributions to team and company success.
