Job Summary: The Safety Auditor at Pierce Powerline plays a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of safety and compliance across various job sites. This position involves extensive fieldwork, requiring the auditor to travel to different locations, conduct thorough inspections, and report findings to management. The Safety Auditor is responsible for identifying potential safety hazards, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, and fostering a culture of safety among field employees.
Key Responsibilities:
•Safety and Quality Audits: Conduct comprehensive safety and quality audits on lineman crews, ensuring compliance with OSHA, DOT, and company-specific policies and procedures.
•Incident Investigation: Assist in the investigation and documentation of utility damages, vehicular incidents, and personal injuries, providing detailed reports and recommendations for corrective actions.
•Training and Evaluation: Train and evaluate field employees, ensuring they meet the required standards and are equipped to perform their duties safely.
•PPE Compliance: Audit the compliance of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) usage according to implemented policies, ensuring all employees are adequately protected.
•Safety and Environmental Policies: Audit safety and environmental policies in accordance with local regulations DOT standards, and OSHA standards including Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
•Risk Assessments: Perform risk assessments of various functions and processes, identifying potential hazards and implementing measures to mitigate risks.
•Safety Meetings: Attend and organize monthly safety meetings, maintain records of meeting minutes and follow-ups to ensure continuous improvement in safety practices.
•Communication: Communicate audit results and safety concerns to management, providing actionable insights and recommendations for enhancing safety protocols.
Requirements:
•Valid driver's license and clean driving record
•Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check
•Construction safety background/knowledge preferred
•Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
•Ability to use a smartphone app for worksite reporting
•Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills
•Heavy Lifting/ 50 + lbs.
•High School Diploma or GED
•Dependable and able to maintain a work schedule
