Location: Ohio (Field-Based Role)

1099 Contractor Role | Competitive Pay | Local Travel Required Across Ohio Be the Bridge Between Progress and Property – In Ohio
At Halo Land Management, we help bring critical infrastructure projects to life — and we do it the right way. As a Right of Way Agent in Ohio, you'll play a key role in helping clients access land for energy, broadband, transportation, and utility development. Whether it’s farmland in Northwest Ohio, suburban parcels outside Columbus, or industrial properties near Cleveland — you’ll be the face of progress, ensuring every handshake, contract, and landowner conversation is rooted in trust.
We’re looking for someone who knows Ohio’s land — its people, property laws, and county systems. If you’re a natural communicator, experienced in negotiation, and thrive in the field, we’d love to talk.
•️ A Day in the Life: Working the Buckeye Ground
You start your day reviewing parcel maps from Medina County and checking in with the project manager on agreement status. By late morning, you're in the field — meeting with a landowner near Dayton to walk their property and discuss easement terms. After lunch, you follow up with stakeholders on pending documents and log updates in the CRM. By evening, you’re home — ready to plan the next day’s route to sites outside Toledo or Canton.
Every day is different — but every day moves the needle on projects that matter to Ohio communities.
What You’ll Do
•Represent Halo professionally in face-to-face interactions with Ohio landowners.
•Negotiate right-of-way easements, access rights, and surface use agreements.
•Conduct land and title research using county resources across Ohio.
•Interpret project maps, survey plats, legal descriptions, and ROW documents.
•Prepare and present agreement documents, clearly communicating project details and terms.
•Collaborate with internal teams to coordinate timelines and document progress.
•Provide regular updates and escalate issues as needed to maintain momentum.
•Travel locally across Ohio — depending on project locations and client needs.
✅ What You Bring
•Experience in right of way, land acquisition, real estate, or title research — preferably in Ohio.
•Familiarity with Ohio property law, county assessor systems, and land use regulations.
•Confident negotiator and excellent communicator — written and verbal.
•Ability to read plats, deeds, title reports, and project drawings.
•Organized and independent — you’re comfortable working solo and managing multiple deadlines.
•Proficiency in Microsoft Office and virtual collaboration tools (email, Zoom, etc.).
•Based in Ohio and willing to travel throughout the state.
•Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
