Americus Energy, in partnership with US Solar Supplier, is a rapidly growing, mission-driven solar company focused on customer-first residential and commercial solar solutions. As one of the fastest growing solar companies in the nation, we offer bespoke procurement and design services to a growing market of solar adopters looking for materials and system design guidance.
We are now hiring an experienced Residential Solar Project Manager to join our leadership team in a remote or hybrid position at our Louisville, Kentucky headquarters.
We’re looking for a Residential Solar Project Manager with a technical background who thrives on building structure where there’s growth, leading processes, and keeping projects moving without losing sight of the details that matter. This isn’t a “keep the lights
on” role—it’s about shaping a fast-growing residential solar design program and building a team that delivers custom permit-ready plans on time.
From the moment a project leaves intake to the point it becomes a bill of materials, you’ll own the journey— reviewing intake surveys to evaluate needs, guiding solar PV system materials lists, and ensuring nothing gets stuck in the pipeline. You’ll collaborate closely with sales teams, leadership, designers, and external partners, acting as the connective tissue that keeps projects flowing forward.
This role blends strategic oversight with hands-on involvement: managing workflows, refining internal processes, and helping deliver streamlined solar designs and convert BOMs.
We’re seeking someone who pairs proven project management skills with solar expertise—someone with NABCEP certification, design software fluency (Aurora, OpenSolar, or similar), and a deep understanding of CAD best practices. You won’t research permitting or design plansets, but you will deliver both.
If you enjoy leading customers through a full system design process, this is your chance to make a measurable impact on how residential solar projects get designed and delivered.
- Manage residential PV design projects from concept through final permit set.
- Use Aurora Solar, OpenSolar, or similar software to create accurate layouts, shade
- Create files to submit to engineers for plansets and stamps.

- Track project timelines and deliverables; resolve bottlenecks proactively.
- Provide technical expertise to sales and customer service teams.
- Be flexible and able to prioritize and complete a variety of simultaneous tasks with a high level of organization.
- Ability and willingness to learn and adapt quickly to rapidly evolving business priorities.
- Maintain positive, productive relationships with all stakeholders.
- Mandatory NABCEP Certification or 3 years experience as a PV Installation Professional or PV Design Specialist.
- 2 years of project management experience in residential solar or related construction fields.
- Proficiency in solar design software (Aurora, OpenSolar, Helioscope, or similar).
- Strong knowledge of NEC requirements and residential permitting processes.
