EquipmentShare is searching for a Remanufacturing Program Technician for our corporate office in Columbia, MO, to support our team as the department continues to grow.
Job Summary: The Remanufacturing Engine Technician will be responsible for disassembling, inspecting, repairing, and reassembling engines and related components as part of the remanufacturing process. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and knowledge of diesel and gas engine systems. The ideal candidate will have experience with engine rebuilding, machining, and quality control processes to ensure all remanufactured engines meet OEM specifications.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Duties/Responsibilities:
•Disassemble engines and components for inspection and remanufacturing
•Clean, measure, and inspect parts for wear, damage, and reuse potential
•Machine, repair, or replace engine components as needed (e.g., cylinder heads, crankshafts, pistons)
•Reassemble engines to OEM specifications, ensuring proper tolerances and torque settings
•Conduct diagnostic tests and quality checks on remanufactured engines
•Maintain accurate records of parts used, labor hours, and test results
•Follow all safety protocols and company quality standards
•Work collaboratively with engineers, supervisors, and other technicians to improve processes and efficiency
•Operate specialized equipment such as test benches, precision measuring tools, and machining tools
•Troubleshoot and resolve issues in remanufacturing processes
Required Skills/Abilities:
•Strong understanding of internal combustion engines, fuel systems, and machining principles
•Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, calipers, micrometers, and torque wrenches
•Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics
•Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and precision
•Ability to lift heavy components and work in a physically demanding environment
•Familiarity with remanufacturing standards and industry best practices is a plus
Education and Experience:
•High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in diesel/gas engine repair is a plus
•At least 2 years of experience in engine rebuilding, remanufacturing, or related mechanical work
Physical Requirements:
•Ability to move on a regular basis to perform physical activities, such as, but not limited to, lifting up to 25 lbs. unassisted, bending, standing, climbing, or walking
