Position Purpose:
Supports the development of new Hendrickson suspension components while maintaining profitability, productivity, and safety of operations by simultaneously developing the manufacturing processes and tools alongside product development. Focused on creating processes that are capable, sustainable, and within takt time. These processes must support the capacity needed by the customer within reasonable financial payback to our company.
Essential Functions:
•Support divisional manufacturing engineers with development and assembly of prototype and production equipment.
•Support the BWE maintenance technicians with trouble shooting equipment as required.
•Identify production opportunities to increase safety, throughput or product quality.
•Help in maintaining manufacturing systems and controls at each production facility.
•Help to evaluate existing tooling and fixturing to determine the optimum method of repair or improvement as required.
Major Responsibilities:
Division Support - Support BWE manufacturing engineering groups with the following:
•Fixture, tooling and equipment development
+ Drawing development and releases
+ Assembly
+ Welding
+ PLC Programing
+ Robotic program development
•Procedure and documentation updates.
•Training material updates.
•Support equipment down calls that can't be resolved by maintenance.
•Trouble shoot equipment efficiently and effectively (mechanically and electrically).
Education and Training
•Associate's degree in an Engineering related field preferred.
•8+ years' experience in related field.
Minimum Qualifications
•Experience with robotic programming and trouble shooting.
•Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
•Must be able to understand and monitor PLC programs.
•Strong communication and project organization abilities
•Ability to manage multiple tasks at once.
•Exhibits strong mechanical aptitude.
•Exhibit strong trouble shooting skills.
Physical Demands
•Constant standing, walking, reaching, balancing, cervical spine motion, lower extremities, and simple grasp
•Frequent use of firm grasping, fine manipulation, and pitching
•Occasional forward bending, squatting, kneeling, and climbing
•Lifting and carrying up to 50lbs including machine parts, parts boxes, equipment, and tool bag.
