Under direct supervision, performs apprentice level work including installing, maintaining, testing, repairing, calibrating and troubleshooting a complex control system, protective relay system and AC/DC control systems including microprocessor, solid-slate and electro-mechanical for the district substation, transmission and generation electric protection system; installs, repairs and maintains protective relays, substation switching control devices, metering, telemetering equipment, control systems, relaying communications and electrical equipment, associated with high voltage substation equipment protecting the reliability of the electric power, transmission and distribution systems; inspects substation operating conditions; troubleshoots failures and ensures district complies with NERC, FERC and WECC regulatory standards and district policies. Performs other duties as assigned.
High school equivalency with supplemental college or training courses in electronics and one year of progressively skilled electronics or electrical experience preferred.
