Regulatory Compliance Manager

About the Role:

Pawnee Waste LLC, a specialized waste landfill, is hiring a hands-on Regulatory & Compliance Manager to manage our environmental and safety compliance programs. This role involves performing compliance activities directly — including permitting, reporting, documentation, and field inspections.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in solid waste, oil & gas, or industrial environmental compliance who is comfortable working independently and on-site as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

- Research and interpret landfill-related environmental and safety regulations

- Personally manage permitting processes, including applications, renewals, and compliance submissions

- Maintain accurate compliance records and prepare required reporting

- Monitor site activity and processes for adherence to regulatory standards

- Lead internal audits and support external inspections, including follow-up actions

- Deliver or coordinate compliance training for operational staff

- Collaborate with leadership and regulatory agencies as needed

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Business, or related field

- 3+ years of hands-on compliance experience in landfill, oil & gas, or related fields

- Familiarity with EPA, OSHA, CDPHE, and waste-handling regulations

- Strong attention to detail, documentation, and follow-through

- Ability to work independently and communicate across departments

Work Environment:

- Primarily office-based with periodic site visits

- May involve outdoor weather, uneven terrain, and proximity to equipment

- While hazardous waste is not accepted, minimal exposure to unknown or mischaracterized materials may occur

- PPE is required for all site-based work

- Occasional overtime, weekend, or holiday work may be required

Pre-Employment Requirements:

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
