DESCRIPTION
The Regional Operations Training Manager is responsible for evaluating and verifying competency of both new and existing operations employees within an Aegis Regional geographic area who perform treater, delivery, and bulk truck operations in accordance with DOT regulations, internal Aegis procedures, customer requirements, and best practices.
This role is to verify that operations employees provide chemical delivery and/or chemical treatment to our customers in a consistent, reliable, safe, environmentally responsible, professional, and DOT compliant manner.
RESPONSIBILITIES
•Responsible for verification of competency for each new operations employee on their job requirements for their assigned Region;
•Responsible for ensuring that only employees who can safely perform the tasks assigned graduate from the program prior to working alone;
•Establish approved Mentors in each area to maintain consistency of the competency evaluation process and documentation for each new employee;
•Establish meetings to track progress of operations employees training verification from hiring to final competency sign-off.
•Complete and verify documentation of competency for each operations employee;
•Use their expertise to provide on-the-job training to new drivers;
•Identify opportunities to improve written field procedures, work practices, and associated equipment to promote/improve safe, compliant work;
•Verify that identified improvements to procedures, work practices, and equipment are implemented within each assigned Region;
•Verify and document competency of existing operations employees for current, and as procedure updates occur, and periodic field auditing;
•Assist new employees in building confidence in their abilities;
•Share their sense of professionalism with the new drivers and instill a safe working culture into the new employee;
•Perform documented annual ride-alongs with current operations employees, after an incident, when DOT citations are issued, and to ensure best practices are followed;
•Perform Field Engagements in support of HSE and the Aegis Safety Leadership Roundtable;
•Identify additional classroom and/or hands-on verification training for Operations to support DOT compliance and safe operations.
•Perform Smith Driver Training as a certified Smith Driving Instructor.
•Facilitate weekly SSE call updates with all assigned regions and keep records up-to-date with the progression of all SSEs with the Mentors and Management, including the scheduling of SSE Committee meetings for final SSE sign off.
•Assist in Regional HSE additional duties and support where requested.

SKILL REQUIREMENTS
•Driving record that is acceptable to Aegis’ standards.
•Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
•Intermediate MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook) and PC Skills.
•A safe, reliable, experienced, and trusted role model.
•Knowledgeable of the following:
+ DOT hours of service requirements and E-Logs.
+ DOT Hazmat Regulations as it applies to carrying applicable Hazmat.
+ Vehicle Pre-and-Post Trip Inspections.
+ Safe Driving techniques i.e. Smith Driving.
+ DOT Road Tests.
+ Treater and/or Delivery Truck Operations.
•High degree of professionalism under all circumstances and at all times and.
•Exhibit qualities that will ensure that no employee is deemed qualified until they can safely and competently perform all the required tasks.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
•High School Diploma or GED; Some college preferred.
•Recommended to have at least 3 years of oilfield experience, preferably in operations within the upstream or midstream chemical business.
•Class A CDL with Hazmat and Tanker Endorsements optional.
•Complete Customer/Site Specific Customer Training where needed.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
•Ability to work in inclement weather and long hours and lift up to 50 pounds.
