Refining IT Systems Specialist
PBF Energy Inc. (NYSE:PBF) is one of the largest independent refiners in North America, operating through its subsidiaries, oil refineries and related facilities. We are seeking a talented Refining IT Systems Specialist to join our team as a pivotal member that would play a key role here at PBF Energy. This role would be located onsite at our refinery location in Toledo, OH.
The IT Specialist provides on-site technical support for refinery business operations, focusing primarily on end-user support and device management. This role assists with applications, collaboration tools, computing equipment, and network/server infrastructure by acting as remote hands for specialized teams.
- Serve as the first point of contact for technical issues related to hardware, software, and accounts via phone, email, chat, and in person.
- Troubleshoot and resolve problems with laptops, desktops, mobile devices, printers, and peripherals.
- Assist users with common business applications (Microsoft 365, VPN clients, web-based enterprise systems).
- Perform password resets, MFA troubleshooting, and basic account administration following security protocols.
- Prepare and deploy new user equipment (laptops, monitors, docking stations, mobile devices).
- Document all support interactions in the ticketing system and educate users on best practices.
- Support onboarding activities by preparing devices and assisting new employees during setup.
- Deploy and maintain computing devices, VOIP phones, printers, and multifunction devices.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of all devices and network and server equipment.
- Monitor system reliability and escalate issues to specialized teams as needed.
- Act as remote hands for network and server teams to assist with deployment and maintenance tasks.
- Assist in small-scale IT projects and initiatives, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business goals.
- Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to resolve technical issues and support initiatives.
- Follow PBF’s Incident Management procedures for timely resolution and escalation of IT incidents.
- Comply with all PBF policies and security guidelines.
- Assist in response to cybersecurity incidents and vulnerability management activities.
- Support adherence to cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST).
- Participate in disaster recovery drills and assist with backup processes.
- Perform additional tasks based on business needs.
- Bachelor’s Degree Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience/certifications).
- 1+ years of IT support experience preferred, including exposure to hardware, software, and operating systems.- Willingness to provide day-to-day and after-hours support (24x7)
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to maintain good relationships with employees and vendors.
This position is on site 5 days a week.
Must possess a valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) or be able to obtain one.
