Shipping and Receiving Specialist

About Us

We’re a fast-paced, high-performance precision machine shop serving the aerospace, defense, and space sectors. Our team is growing, and we’re looking for a detail-oriented and reliable Shipping & Receiving Clerk to join our operations team.

Key Responsibilities

- Packaging & Shipping: Clean, package, and prepare precision machined components for shipment to customers and vendors. Ensure parts are handled with care and properly protected.

- Receiving: Accurately receive incoming shipments including raw materials, tools, perishable cutting tools, and vendor-supplied components.

- Inventory Management: Track and maintain accurate inventory of:

- Finished goods ready to ship

- Shipping/packaging supplies (boxes, labels, etc.)

- Logistics Coordination: Create, schedule, and oversee outgoing shipments via UPS, FedEx, LTL freight, and other carriers. Generate BOLs and shipping documents.

- Documentation & ERP: Accurately log shipments and receipts in our ERP system. Maintain organized shipping records.

- Support Shop Floor: Occasionally assist with material movement or support tasks related to job flow.

Qualifications

Required:

- Familiarity with shipping software (UPS WorldShip, FedEx Ship Manager, etc.)

- Experience operating a forklift (valid certification preferred)

- Prior experience in a warehouse, shipping/receiving, or manufacturing environment

- Understanding of inventory control and packaging best practices

- Strong attention to detail and organization

- Basic computer skills (email, spreadsheets, ERP entry)

- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and be on your feet for most of the day

Preferred:

- Experience in a machine shop or handling precision components

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
