Q2 Artificial Lift Services (ALS) has 40+ repair and service facilities located across the Canada and the U.S. Our service locations are supported by a world-class manufacturing operation (API & ISO Certified), plus a highly skilled engineering and optimization group. Q2 ALS manufactures high quality individual pump parts in the Oil and Gas Industry. We offer a complete product line of barrels, plungers, fittings, accessories and heat treated tubing needed for downhole pump installations.
The position for Quality Manager will office out of our manufacturing facility in Nappanee, IN. The successful candidate will develop, review and analyze QA processes which identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement throughout the plant. To resolve issues related to inefficiencies and areas for improvement, the successful candidate must be capable of collaborating with other department heads to implement changes while still maintaining a high-level quality standard. The Quality Manager is responsible for ensuring all products conform to internal/customer/product standards, API Q1, ISO 9001, and regulatory/legal requirements.

Position Specific Responsibilities
•Ensuring the Company’s QMS program is capable of meeting or exceeding API 11B, API Q1, and ISO 9001:2015 requirements and understanding the implications of not conforming to those requirements.
•Ensuring the Company’s Continual Improvement Program conforms to API Q1/ISO 9001:2015 requirements by complying with the Quality Policy and procedures and setting and meeting target QMS objectives.
•Collaborating with management, department heads and production staff to achieve efficient and accurate quality assessments that conform to and/or exceed customer/company/industry/regulatory requirements and expectations.
•Creating, implementing and improving quality processes by establishing product specifications and quality attributes; measuring production; gathering and documenting evidence; determining operational and performance qualifications; and writing and updating quality assurance procedures.
•Working the engineering/purchasing/production to create material standards and an approved supplier list (ASL) to ensure products and services meet or exceed customer/company/industry/regulatory requirements and expectations.
•Managing and maintaining the Company’s quality inspection and product release programs for incoming and in-process materials, work in process (WIP) and finished goods.
•Leading and managing lean manufacturing and process improvement principles in all areas of the plant (e.g., scrap reduction) while continually improving the QMS.
•Leading audits, both internal and external, to ensure the products and services meet or exceed customer, Company, industry, statutory, regulatory and QMS requirements.
•Tracking, recording, maintaining and reporting quality assurance data ensuring conformance to production and processing requirements and reporting the results in Management Review Meetings in support of continual improvement processes for the QMS.
•Implementing policies and processes to improve inspection methods, equipment/tool performance, product quality, efficiency and employee morale.
•Communicating with employees and/or management to address employee suggestions or problems and solutions.
•Coordinating or directing lean manufacturing and process improvement processes when product or processes do not conform or exceed customer/company/industry/regulatory requirements and expectations.
•Coordinating or directing training activities for management, department heads, and production staff concerning the importance of the Company’s QMS program; including the importance of inspection, data analysis and the need for continual improvement.
•Researching and gathering customer satisfaction from relevant interested parties, both internal and external.
•Developing a departmental budget and managing department costs.
•Determining and managing staffing requirements to meet quality and delivery expectations.
•Other duties as assigned.
Required Minimum Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree in business administration, engineering, or another related field.
•Seven (7) plus years of experience in manufacturing and quality assurance with three (3) plus years in a managerial role or twelve (12) plus years of experience in a quality assurance role.
•Experience with lean manufacturing principles (i.e., Six Sigma) preferred.
•Experience with process improvement principles (i.e., Kaizen) preferred.
•Experience with project management (i.e., FMEA, APQP, SPC, etc.) preferred.
•Certified Lead Auditor preferred.
•Experience understanding and working in an API Q1/ISO 9001:2015 environment preferred.
•Experience with measurement equipment; calibration and gage R&R experience preferred.
•Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite.
•Proficiency with QHSE Management Software.
•Proficiency with GAGEpack preferred.
•Experience with an ERP system is a plus.
