Quality Engineer

POSITION SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:

Quality engineer position will assist in the planning, development, implementation, communication and maintenance of a company’s quality management systems, polices, documentation, data, and customer- specific requirements. This position will be reporting to Plant Quality Manager and is a Weimar Site based role.

Essential Functions Quality Assurance:

•

Conduct problem solving activities to resolve internal and external non conformances with permanent irreversible corrective action. This will be the major responsibility for this role

•

Develop, implement and oversee the quality assurance activities, including finished good inspections, audits, testing of raw materials, in-process materials, quality control plans, procedures, and standards. Part inspection, including layout, in process, final, and receiving using all types of mechanical inspection

Quality Management System (QMS):

•

Develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System in compliance with ISO 9001 and other relevant standards including customer requirements or industry standards

•

Ensure that the QMS is effectively integrated into all operational processes.

Continuous Improvement:

•

Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.

•

Implement Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to identify and eliminate waste and reduce variability.

Customer Focus:

•

Act as a point of contact for quality-related customer concerns and complaints.

•

Develop corrective and preventive actions to address customer feedback and improve customer satisfaction.

Regulatory Compliance:

•

Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements and industry standards.

•

Stay updated with changes in regulations and standards affecting the manufacturing industry.

Documentation And Reporting:

•

Maintain accurate and up-to-date quality documentation, including records of inspections, audits, and test results.

•

Prepare and present quality reports to senior management.

Supplier Quality Management:

•

Collaborate with suppliers to ensure the quality of incoming materials.

•

Conduct supplier audits and assessments to verify compliance with quality standards.

Other Requirements

•

Problem Solving Experience in Manufacturing Environment required

•

Experience with various measurement systems including CMM and performance of gage R&R studies

•

Excellent organizational skills with the ability to perform multiple tasks and obtain results working within strict time frames

•

Proficient in MS Office software including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint

•

Ability to read and interpret assembly and component drawings and engineering specifications

In-depth understanding of industry regulations, standards, and compliance requirements relevant to the manufacturing sector.

Technical Proficiency:

•

Proficiency in using quality management software, statistical analysis tools, and other relevant technologies.

•

Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and supply chain, to achieve quality objectives.

Flexibility to adapt to changing requirements, regulations, and industry trends while maintaining high-quality standards.

Required Education And Experience:

•

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent discipline

•

5 years in a manufacturing environment preferred

Work Environment

This job operates in an office and manufacturing environment. This role routinely uses tools and other such equipment during the course of the job duties. Provided Personal Protective Equipment, as well as steel-toed boots or shoes, must be worn at all times.

Physical Demands

•

Moderate walking and climbing

•

Physically able to conduct inspections and carry equipment used for inspections

•

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time

•

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, stand, sit; and stoop

•

Regular, predictable attendance is required

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday.

Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel

Some limited travel will be required. Up to 10%.
