Quality Control Inspector

Summary

Tests and inspects products at various stages of production process and compiles and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned.)

· Interprets design drawings, diagrams, and utilizes mathematics to confer with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards.

· Selects products for tests at specified stages in production process, and tests products for variety of qualities such as dimensions and performance.

· Records test data, applying statistical quality control procedures.

· Evaluates data and writes reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.

· Prepares graphs or charts of data or enters data into computer for analysis.

· Develops and updates process procedures to ensure that documentation is accurate and understandable.

· Determines the test methods, procedures, parts, and equipment needed to implement design changes.

· Work with customers and/or engineers to clarify drawings and improve product for ease of manufacturing.

· Interfaces with all levels of management and associates to gather information and provide guidance for implementation.

· Has proficient computer skills and knowledge of Outlook, Word, and Excel programs

· Assists with related special projects, as required.

Education and/or Experience

Industry Experience or Education encouraged but not required.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

The associate must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. While performing the duties of this Job, the associate is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
