Quality Control Inspector
Juniper Industries, a leading manufacturer of pressure vessels and watertight/ballistic closures for ships, is seeking an experienced Quality Control Inspector for a challenging position supporting manufacturing of multicomponent mechanical assemblies. The role involves intimate involvement in all aspects of manufacture, testing, and quality compliance.
Job Responsibilities:
Maintains quality standards by approving incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products; recording quality results. Path to NDT training and certification for the right candidate.
Job Duties:
•Inspect incoming materials, in-process production and finished products by confirming specifications; conducting visual and dimensional inspection and other testing.
•Document inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarizing re-work and waste; inputting data into Quality Control database.
•Approve in-process production by confirming specifications and communicating required adjustments to QC Manager.
•Report non-conforming products to QC Manager for re-work and confirm re-work.
•Calibrate inspection tools and maintain associated records.
•Maintain safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures.
•Maintain instrument calibration and calibration records.
Qualifications:
•Ability to use a variety of measuring instruments like caliper, micrometer, height gauge, dial indicators, thread gauges
•Good understanding of material certifications and GD & T
•Familiar with weld standards, mechanical assemblies and metal fabrication for in-process and final inspection (will train for right individual)
•Reads and interprets mechanical engineering drawings
•Minimum High School Diploma (Associates Degree from Technical School is a plus.
•5+ years’ experience in comparable QC work
•Good communication skills
