Program Eligibility

- Be enrolled in a post-secondary institution and available from May to August.

- Be legally entitled to work in Canada (Citizen, PR, or valid work permit).

- Complete a Medical and/or Alcohol & Drug test if the role is considered safety sensitive.

Your Opportunity at SECURE

The Quality Control Chemist Summer Student will support laboratory testing, sample management, and equipment maintenance to ensure accurate quality control of products.

This role provides hands-on experience in a professional laboratory setting, where you will work closely with the Quality Manager and the Operations team.

This role is based out of

Red Deer, Alberta The Team

The Specialty Chemicals Lab Team at SECURE is made up of chemists and technical specialists who lead R&D, QC, and custom product development—delivering innovative chemical solutions for drilling, waste treatment, and operational optimization.

A Day in The Life

- Testing Blend & Bulk samples

- Labelling, obtaining, filling, labelling Sample requests

- QC Lab testing results entering

- Filing – Routine/Non-Routine

- Liaising with Quality Manager & Operations

- Maintaining Lab chemicals/inventory supplies

- Maintenance & calibration of Lab Equipment

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

- Superior adherence to safety

- Analytical equipment knowledge

- Excellent at verbal and written technical communication

- Detail-oriented and demonstrate interpersonal, time management and organizational skills

- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

- Must have own transportation to the Blending Plant
