One of the most important tasks of a quality control coordinator is to assist the QA/QC Manager in all job functions laid out by the Project Manager. Anything the QA/QC Manager requests should take priority over your day-to-day tasks outlined below.
The Project Quality Assurance & Quality Control Coordinator responsibilities include administering an adequate, suitable and effective QMS (Quality Management System) and OQ (Operator Qualification) approach for the project, as supervised by the Division Quality and OQ Director, and the Project Manager. The Project Quality & Operator Qualification Coordinator performs and/or supervises the performance of quality acceptance test, quality control (QC) product inspections and quality assurance (QA) process audits. Test, Inspection and audit activities are referred to as “TIA” activities The Project Quality & Operator Qualification Coordinator works with the Director Q & OQ and Project Manager to develop, deploy and sustain the project QMS. QMS support includes the conducting of necessary Quality Plan training and QMS orientation, and the facilitation of CAPA-CI (Corrective Action and Preventive Action - Continual Improvement). The Project Quality & Operator Qualification Coordinator works with the Owner-Operator and OQ Evaluator(s) to ensure complete OQ program conformance.
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to these essential tasks and are subject to change by the employer as needs arise in the company.
- Be a leader in safety. Support the superintendent in all safety matters.
- Keep the QA/QC Manager informed on all relevant issues.
- Assists the QA/QC Manager to develop the preliminary quality plan and other needed QA & OQ documents
- Planning Phase - Works with QA/QC Manager to complete the quality plan, TIA checklists. QMS documents, and other QA & OQ set-up, training, orientation, etc.
- Executing and Control Phase – Ensures completion of all Q & OQ requirements, TIA activities, and sustainment of the project QMS approach and OQ program
- At Substantial Completion, as directed by the Project Manager, closes-out all Construction related TIA activities and QMS activities, finalizes the quality records for customer turn-in and archives, and ensures OQ close out requirements are complete
- As contractually specified, assists with additional QA & OQ activities following Substantial Completion (i.e., May assist with final testing and commissioning)
- As directed by QA/QC Manager, facilitates project CAPA-CI activities.
- Cooperates and coordinates with corporate/division when transitioning CAPA-CI to CI/Lean applications
- Work closely with project management team members and may assist Project Manager during engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) work for the EPC contract
- Minimum 1 years of relevant oil and gas work history – experience in installation and maintenance.
- Highly proficient in all oil and gas operation procedures
- Must be able to work independently while demonstrating strong leadership qualities and integrity to document control, handling and process criteria.
- Employees in this position will demonstrate adherence to the OQ Law through the evaluation process including performance and knowledge-based Pipeline Covered Task requirements
- Communication and PC skills are essential
- Associate or bachelor’s Degree desired
- Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) experience and project management skills needed
- Relevant ASQ (American Society for Quality) or equivalent quality professional certificates preferred and/or willingness to be trained
- Understanding of EPC Quality applications, Quality Management System practical experience on project site preferred
- Expertise in professionally performing and supervising test, inspection, and audit (TIA) activities, applying CAPA-CI processes and administering the QMS
· Ability to organize and administer project QMS approach on project
· Ability to deliver quality training/ QMS orientation and “train the trainer” course offerings
· Experience with construction projects within H&M’s Lines of business (such as pipeline construction, etc.)
· Computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint
· Successful interpersonal communication and meeting management skills
· Travel may be required, as well as the ability to commit to long-term on-site assignments
