Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Specialist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing the procurement process, ensuring the timely acquisition of goods and services necessary for our operations. This position requires expertise in supply chain management, vendor management, and contract negotiation, as well as proficiency in ERP systems such as Rootstock salesforce. Pay is based on experience.
- Manage the end-to-end procurement process, including sourcing, purchasing, and supplier management.
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure quality and reliability of products.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing with vendors to secure favorable terms.
- Monitor inventory levels and manage inventory control processes to optimize stock levels.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to understand material requirements and ensure timely delivery.
- Utilize ERP systems to forecast demand and plan procurement activities effectively.
- Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their capabilities.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies and procedures while maintaining accurate records.
- Analyze purchasing data to identify trends, cost-saving opportunities, and areas for improvement.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred but not required.
- Proven experience in procurement management or purchasing within a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in ERP systems such as rootstock salesforce is highly desirable.
- Strong negotiation skills with a track record of successful contract negotiations.
- Knowledge of supply chain management principles, logistics, and inventory management practices.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with internal teams and external suppliers.
