We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Purchasing Manager to oversee and optimize our procurement, inventory control, and materials planning processes. Individual needs to maintain a positive attitude and lead by example. This individual will be responsible for ensuring that raw materials arrive on time to support production schedules, maintaining accurate records of both raw material and finished goods inventory, and helping coordinate shipping and logistics operations. A background in shipping or logistics is highly desirable.
- Procurement & Material Planning:
- Source and purchase raw materials and components to meet production demands.
- Maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure timely delivery, competitive pricing, and quality compliance.
- Forecast material requirements based on production schedules and sales forecasts.
- Monitor supplier performance and resolve delivery or quality issues.
- Inventory Management:
- Ensure accurate inventory records of raw materials and finished goods.
- Implement and enforce inventory control procedures including cycle counts, reconciliations, and physical inventory audits.
- Optimize inventory levels to balance supply with production needs and minimize excess or obsolete stock.
- Production Support:
- Coordinate closely with production and scheduling teams to ensure uninterrupted workflow.
- Proactively identify and resolve supply chain bottlenecks or material shortages.
- Shipping & Logistics (Preferred):
- Assist with outbound logistics planning, including scheduling and coordination of finished goods shipments.
- Collaborate with warehouse and shipping personnel to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.
- Support compliance with all relevant shipping, transportation, and customs regulations.
- Reporting & Analysis:
- Generate regular reports on purchasing activities, inventory levels, and supplier performance.
- Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities and process improvements.
- 3–5 years of experience in purchasing, supply chain, or inventory management; manufacturing environment preferred.
- Knowledge of raw material planning, inventory control systems, and procurement processes.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with a high attention to detail.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Background in shipping or logistics strongly preferred.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Office and manufacturing floor environment.
- May require occasional travel to suppliers or distribution centers.
- Must be able to occasionally lift materials and inspect inventory on warehouse shelves.
