Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Assistant to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will support the purchasing department in sourcing and procuring materials and supplies necessary for our operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of inventory control, production planning, and e-commerce systems. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that our procurement processes run smoothly and efficiently.

Responsibilities

•

Assist in the sourcing and procurement of materials, supplies, and services required for production.

•

Collaborate with suppliers to negotiate pricing and terms to secure the best deals for the company.

•

Maintain accurate inventory control records and assist in managing stock levels.

•

Utilize MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems to track inventory needs and production schedules.

•

Process purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of goods.

•

Monitor market trends to identify potential cost-saving opportunities.

•

Support e-commerce initiatives by managing product listings and inventory on online platforms.

•

Work closely with production planning teams to align purchasing strategies with operational needs.

Experience

•

Previous experience in a purchasing or procurement role is preferred.

•

Familiarity with AS400 or similar inventory management systems is advantageous.

•

Strong negotiation skills with an ability to build relationships with suppliers.

•

Knowledge of production planning processes and inventory control best practices.

•

Experience in e-commerce environments is a plus.

•

Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week
