Job Overview

LOOKING FOR:

- Purpose:

The purpose of this position is to purchase goods and services for departmental and organizational needs, and record that information for the issuing of payment

Description of work:

Manages inventory levels of shop tooling and facility needs.

Evaluates vendors and negotiates contracts with suppliers for organizational needs. Creates, manages PO’s, and records payment information

Essential duties include, but are not limited to the following:

- Evaluating suppliers by considering price, availability, and other criteria

- Verifying purchases by comparing them to a master list and recommending alternatives for expensive or irrelevant products

- Interacting with suppliers to schedule delivery times and resolve shipping errors

- Authorizing payments and maintain receipts, records, and inventories

- Monitor backorder lists

- Monitor inventory levels and insure proper stock levels are maintained for tooling and perishable items that are needed to perform daily operations

- Start job sheets for items below minimum levels

- Purchase inventory for customer orders

- Purchase MRO items

- Help with shipping and receiving as needed

- Organization

- Responsibility for setting Calendar Reminders for timely follow ups for accountability of Orders, Prices, Communication with the Vendors and Team.

- Facilitating proper and desired goals to pay vendors appropriately and timely with minimal internal effort

- Manage and Keep Vendor Report Card

- Evaluate when vendors do not respond to accommodate needs

- Where possible, find new vendors.
