BRIEF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Operate heavy equipment, such as front end loader, road grader, street sweeper, trucks and other vehicles. Perform maintenance on equipment; utilize hand tools; perform other manual duties as required.

This position also includes power plant, water, and wastewater departments operation and maintenance duties, including an on-call rotation.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or GED; Class A Minnesota Commercial Driver’s License with air brake endorsement; obtain a First Aid Card and CPR certification within 3 months of hire; the ability to work outdoors with great physical exertion, the ability to lift up to 75 pounds; the ability to work around noisy equipment, on uneven terrain, in fields, and along roads with vehicular traffic. Will be required to enter into licensing apprentice agreement for water and sewer. Must live within a 30 minute response time to Truman.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: 2-3 years on the job experience; ability to operate assigned equipment; knowledge of OSHA regulations, policies and procedures applicable to assigned tasks; ability to read maps & drawings; ability to operate a computer system in a Windows based environment with knowledge of Microsoft Office Software.

Experience with power operated equipment, welding, and water/wastewater/electric experience is beneficial.
