Job summary:
The Project Manager will collaborate with management, designers, production managers, project support, purchasing and external customers to ensure their visions become a reality. Each project is unique and provides opportunities to offer both technical and commercial support. All aspects of project management that occur throughout a project life-cycle are associated with this position. Key responsibilities include promotion of PTMW’s products and services, design input, quote preparation and costing, customer collaboration and strict adherence to PTMW process and procedures. A successful Project Manager must have attention to detail, be creative, disciplined, demonstrate initiative, have a broad understanding of specific aspects of PTMW product line and manufacturing processes, and remain persistent in the development of innovative solutions. Under limited supervision, an ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a high-volume and fast-paced environment is a must.
Essential Functions of the Job
Collaboration
•Work with Engineering Department to ensure that all design inputs/requests by client are met. As well as project due dates and submittal dates.
•Ensure project permitting and submittals are approved by 3rd party agencies and government agencies with the assistance of Project Support.
•With assistance from Production Management and Purchasing ensure that all project specific materials are procured and fabricated in a timely manner to ensure customer satisfaction is met through Quality and On-Time Delivery.
Quality Control
•Ensure that completed projects meet the required quality standards and specifications of that of PTMW as well as the client.
•Subject matter expert of each project regarding the expectation of Quality.
Quoting
•Generate a complete and through project quote based on:
+ Customer provided drawings and written specifications.
+ Promoting PTMW’s manufacturing processes and product line.
•Multiple projects being quoted at any given time.
Project Management
•Create and manage multiple project schedules using Microsoft Project to ensure timely completion of projects.
•Responsible for each project’s success based on profit/loss of each project.
•Support project after completion to provide superb customer service, should customer need assistance after project completion.
Other
•Assist in the development of innovative solutions.
•Travel to industry trade shows.
•Travel to assist in enclosure installations at the customer’s installation location and/or warranty claims.
•Actively demonstrate and uphold PTMW's Core Values of Credibility, Accountability, Leadership and Fairness.
•Other duties as assigned by VP of Project Management and SVP of Engineering & Project Management.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
•Computer skills to include Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook
•Experience using Microsoft Project
•Excellent written and communication skills
•Strong mechanical aptitude with manufacturing processes experience
•Self-motivated, demonstrated initiative and ability to take on project leadership
•Ability to work independently and to organize and prioritize tasks to meet required deadlines
•Ability to read, analyze, interpret, and create technical documents. Ability to create documents and correspondence to effectively present information, respond to questions, solve problems and justify needs
•Good customer relationship skills
•Good project leadership skills
Preferred qualifications:
Education: Associates/Bachelor’s degree in Engineering discipline, Manufacturing Technology, or Construction Management
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
•2+ Years of Industrial construction and/or Manufacturing experience
•Manufacturing experience in sheet metal fabrication
•Understanding of 3-D solid modeling
•Welding/fabrication methods
•Experience in CNC machining
•Engineering or design experience of prefabricated metal enclosures
•Experience leading a manufacturing facility
