UDC is seeking full-time Project Managers
across multiple experience levels to join our growing team. We have openings ranging from
mid-level to senior-levelroles.
The ideal candidates will have experience managing
system implementation and software integration projectsfor external clients within the utility industry.
Travel may be required up to 50–75% at times, depending on client and project needs.
The Project Manager will lead the planning, coordination, execution, and successful delivery of assigned projects. This role ensures that project execution aligns with company policies, procedures, and strategic goals. The Project Manager will provide direct supervision of project personnel, manage client expectations, and maintain clear communication with stakeholders.
In addition, your typical duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Review project proposal materials to understand project goals, deliverables, promised time frame and budget and to identify initial risks, known or potential funding limitations, and proposed approaches for accomplishing the project.
- Ensure project team staffing in consultation with company management, and allocation of resources to specific project tasks.
- Develop project plans that specify deliverables, resource allocation, schedule, labor hours and billing forecasts, risks and issues, mitigation and contingency plans.
- Coordinate assignment of project duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority.
- Coordinate activities and direct project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within budget.
- Apply standards and procedures for project reporting and documentation.
- Review status reports prepared by project personnel and modify schedules and project plans as required.
- Prepare project status reports to keep management, clients, and others informed of project status and related issues.
- Develop business processes that ensure the application meets all project requirements.
- Ensure quality control of technical and project documentation and organize and manage project records in accordance with PMO guidelines.
- Coordinate efforts with finance, marketing, sales, IT and other UDC departments, and client staff to ensure project goals and requirements are met.
- Author change descriptions and coordinate estimating and pricing for change order presentation to the client.
- Participate in proposal development including scope of work preparation and estimate coordination for identified clients in conjunction with account management.
- Supervisory responsibilities such as interviewing, training, directing work, and appraising performance.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
- At least 4–10 years of relevant experience serving in a project management capacity.
- Experience managing system implementation and integration projects for external clients.
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of project management standards, processes, techniques, and tools.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Proven experience in people management, strategic planning, risk management, conflict resolution, and change management.
- Experience overseeing testing and defect tracking.
- Experience in managing software development staff and understanding of the software development cycle, including testing cycles.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and project management software including Project, Visio, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
- Experience managing projects for electric or gas utilities.
- Experience in professional services or consulting organizations.
- Hands-on experience or exposure to Esri GIS software and applications, including Esri Utility Network.
- Certificate in Project Management (PMP) or actively pursuing certification.
$135,000-$155,000 annually.
The compensation offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
