Job Summary

As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading the planning, execution, and successful delivery of commissioning activities for distributed and on-site power solutions. This role oversees multiple sites and coordinates teams to ensure that each microgrid is commissioned safely, on schedule, and to performance specifications. The Project Manager acts as the primary liaison between engineering, sales, field operations, and executive leadership to ensure a seamless transition from planning to operations. You will maintain a detailed understanding of company-wide operating procedures and responsibilities to achieve completion timelines and results.

Essential Duties

- Lead commissioning team efforts across multiple microgrid sites, including large-scale natural gas generators projects and supporting systems (products, controls, distribution, etc.).

- Define commissioning scope, schedule, and budget; ensure alignment with corporate objectives and customer requirements.

- Drive accountability through regular reporting and updates to senior leadership and stakeholders.

- Apply Extreme Ownership principles to create a culture of discipline, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

- Develop comprehensive commissioning plans, including timelines, test protocols, staffing needs, and resource allocation.

- Oversee scheduling and sequencing of commissioning tasks to minimize downtime and optimize resource use.

- Implement safety, compliance, and quality assurance measures during all commissioning phases.

- Identify and mitigate project risks through proactive problem-solving and contingency planning.

- Directly oversee Commissioning Manager / Team at all sites, ensuring alignment of goals and processes.

- Coordinate with Field Operations teams for remote monitoring, telemetry setup, and operational handoffs.

- Collaborate with service, supply chain, and engineering departments to ensure readiness of equipment, materials, and documentation.

- Provide coaching and leadership to field technicians, contractors, and site teams.

- Serve as the primary point of contact for external partners, contractors, and regulatory authorities during the commissioning phase.

- Communicate project milestones, performance data, and key decisions to executives and customers.

- Facilitate cross-departmental collaboration to ensure smooth transition from commissioning to full operational status.

Qualifications

Education Required

4 Year / Bachelors Degree, the degree must be in Project Management, Operations Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a relevant field from an accredited university.

- Graduate Degree, the degree must be in Project Management, Operations Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a relevant field from an accredited university.


Experience Required

- 10+ years of successfully demonstrated project management, or similar field experience

- Honorably discharged service veterans are preferred.


Certifications, Licenses & Registrations

Required

- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers.


Preferred

- Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent.

- OSHA and safety certifications are a plus.

- Strong understanding of project management principles, including timeline management, resource allocation, and deliverable tracking.

- Knowledge of systems and processes that support project synchronization, coordination, and continuous improvement across organizations.

- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards relevant to project execution and best practices.

- Awareness of reporting standards and executive communication protocols.

- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills to manage multiple projects and allocate resources effectively.

- Proficient in preparing comprehensive reports, presentations, and correspondence for senior management.

- Strong leadership skills to foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation within teams.

- Effective performance management skills, including monitoring, assessing, and guiding team members.

- Adaptability and problem-solving skills to respond promptly to changing project requirements and revise plans accordingly.

- Skilled in cross-functional coordination to align diverse teams with project goals.

- Ability to supervise projects ensuring alignment of timelines, resources, and deliverables to meet objectives successfully.

- Ability to establish work priorities and manage resource allocation for multiple concurrent requirements.

- Ability to develop and refine company-wide systems that enhance project collaboration and operational efficiency.

- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with senior management through detailed status updates and strategic insights.

- Ability to motivate and manage team performance to exceed customer expectations and drive positive outcomes.

- Ability to remain current with relevant regulatory and industry standards to ensure compliance and best practices.

- Must be able to fluently speak, write, and read in English.
