Wolf Line Construction (WLC) is growing and looking for dynamic candidates for the position of Project Manager. This is a full-time position, based in Ohio (Open to travel). The position requires extensive experience in construction management. Managing projects that involve installing broadband networks (aerial and underground fiber optic cable installation), splicing, testing, and quality control.
The Project Manager ensures that the project is completed to the client’s satisfaction and specifications, on time and within budget, and encourages employees to increase productivity, and provide support to Senior Management regarding overall business operations.
- Work hand in hand with Client Representatives, internal Construction Manager, Project Engineers, and Coordinators.
- Manage development of construction and execution plans for WLC and its subcontractors.
- Oversee site construction, manage schedule, and subcontractors to customer and internal requirements.
- Responsible for creating and maintaining project production and productivity tracking spreadsheets for weekly review.
- Ability to effectively communicate with a wide variety of industry, government, and public entities, including landowners.
- Attend all company and client status meetings related to WLC.
- Act as WLC safety observer while on site to ensure compliance with WLC safety program.
- Provide leadership to ensure quality assurance and related workmanship practices are being maintained to WLC’s standards.
- May initiate or assist in preparing bid proposals, contract negotiations, and negotiating costs within the scope of a project.
- Responsible for holding vendors accountable to ensure budget is maintained; ensuring management and customers are aware of issues that may impact project schedule or cost.
- Responsible for problem solving project issues that arise and making recommendations based on priorities and the need to ensure the project schedule and budget are maintained.
- Develop and implement project policies and procedures, establish project control systems, and implement project execution plans.
- Review subcontractor invoices, obtain approvals, and ensure payment meets contractual requirements.
- Prepare invoices for client review. Develop internal invoice tracking documentation.
- Communicate with the project team to confirm deliverables and services are being provided to the client’s satisfaction.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with WLC standards, processes, and procedures.
- Cultivate and promote positive working relationships with internal management team, site supervisors, subcontractors, and other contractors onsite.
- Work schedule is based on project needs and crew schedules.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Minimum 10 years’ related experience, including 3 or more years managing infrastructure projects; preference given to broadband deployments projects.
- Experience with the power industry or fiber optic networks.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Military experience may be considered in place of job experience.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent computer skills, including but not limited to Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
