Job Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Project Manager/Estimator Trainee in the structural steel industry. This entry-level position is ideal for someone with a background in construction, engineering, or drafting who is eager to grow into a leadership role. The selected candidate will work alongside seasoned professionals to learn the intricacies of estimating and managing structural steel projects from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Management Training:

•

Assist in planning, scheduling, and coordinating structural steel projects.

•

Support Project Managers in managing budgets, schedules, and subcontractor/vendor relationships.

•

Attend job site meetings to observe and learn field coordination and problem-solving.

•

Help track project milestones, materials, and documentation.

Estimating Training:

•

Assist in reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications.

•

Help prepare detailed material take-offs and cost estimates.

•

Learn how to solicit and analyze quotes from vendors and subcontractors.

•

Support the preparation of bid proposals and submittals.

Qualifications:

Required:

•

High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in construction, engineering, or drafting preferred.

•

Basic understanding of construction documents and blueprints.

•

Strong math and analytical skills.

•

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).

•

Excellent communication, organization, and teamwork skills.

•

Willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.

Preferred:

•

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.

•

Familiarity with AutoCAD, Tekla, Bluebeam, or estimating software.

•

Previous experience in steel fabrication, construction, or a shop/field environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
