Job Overview
This is an ideal position for an engineer seeking to transition to project management. This position is seeking a motivated individual with a background in mechanical, chemical, civil, or electrical engineering or project management in the oil and gas industry. The ideal candidate will have 4-8 years' experience in these positions. The Project Engineer III / Project Manager - Will have the immediate opportunity to work closely with a Project Manager II and Principle of Ops. and Eng. to develop project management and business development related proficiencies. During this development process, the Project Manager I may be expected to heavily contribute to the technical execution of his/her projects. The long-term goals of the individual in this position are to develop and grow his/her own client accounts and grow and lead an internal team of engineers and designers to directly contribute to the overall success of the organization, as well as mentor more junior engineers with a focus on technical and personal growth.
The Project Engineer III / Project Manager - I primary responsibility is to plan, budget, document, and oversee the successful execution of upstream and midstream oil & gas projects. The resource is considered to be familiar with project execution plans, project schedules, document control practices, and has a technical understanding of industrial deliverables. The project manager will take the lead on projects, client meetings, and site walk-downs in the field. The Project Engineer III / Project Manager - I will be responsible for deploying CANUSA EPC LLC project management tools and processes, participate in quality control activities.
This position will also serve as a client-facing representative of the Employer, requiring the resource to communicate with clients as needed and support the installed base of CANUSA EPC LLC’s clients. The Project Engineer III / Project Manager - I, may be required to travel to customer sites, events, or training related to business activities for the Employer.
· Compile Project Progress, Forecast & Control Reports
· Control and Monitor Engineering, Fabrication and Automation Teams on Project Deliverables and Work Performance
· Develop TIC estimates for brownfield and greenfield facilities projects
· Responsible for the successful execution of Projects following PMI guidelines
· Promote CANUSA EPC LLC sales and business in the local area
· Develop sales proposals and EPC contract estimates for new work
· Understanding and practice of CANUSA EPC LLC safety standards while performing business-related services
· Meet technical team department productivity and quality goals
· Perform to CANUSA EPC LLC engineering standards, policies, or details
· Work requires travel to meetings, site visits, and inspections
· Requires willingness to work a flexible schedule
To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies to perform the essential functions of this position:
· Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel & Project
· Exposure to Oil & Gas related codes and standards (ASME, NEC, etc)
· Exposure to P&IDs,Electrical / Control Diagrams, and Civil / Structural construction drawings
· Proficient in the processes involved in Gas Handling and Gas Processing facilities
· Commercial Negotiation Skills and working knowledge of standard oil and gas project-related terms and conditions
· Working Knowledge of oil & gas project constructability & logistics requirements
· Exhibit leadership qualities to lead a team of engineers and designers
· Strong ability to work in an interdisciplinary team and to complete tasks independently
· Self starter with the ability to understand the “why’s” which will dictate the “how’s”
· Excellent communicator with ability to set clear expectations
· Working knowledge of oil & gas related piping codes (ASME B31)
· Proficient in P&IDs and Material Mass Balance diagrams and drawings
· Some previous experience with Compression, Pump and Rotating Equipment Sizing
· Some previous experience in sizing engineered values and instrumentation (PSVs, Meters, Valves, etc)
· Working knowledge in process simulation (Promax, Hysys)
· Working knowledge of oil & gas project constructability & logistics requirements
· Experience managing projects with TIC values of $50k - $5M.
· 4-8 years as an engineer in upstream and midstream oil and gas or refining.
· A successful candidate will have various experiences working at or with EPCMs, Producers and Midstream Companies.
· Previous role at a Design, Engineering, Construction Management or Operations background focused on Oil & Gas facilities and pipeline systems.
· Eligible for Professional Engineer (PE) licensure in the United States
· Oil & Gas Construction or Operations Training
· A passport and eligible travel to/from Canada and USA
· Oral communication—the individual speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations, demonstrates group presentation skills and conducts meetings.
· Written Communication—the individual edits work for spelling and grammar, presents numerical data effectively and is able to read and interpret written information.
· Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draws valid conclusions.

The performance of this position may require travel in North America & job sites where under certain areas require the use of PPE (personal protective equipment).
