Day in the Life
As a Project Engineer, you'll support capital and maintenance projects across SWD processing plants, pipelines, measurement facilities, and related infrastructure. This field- and office-based role combines engineering design, project coordination, and hands-on field support, with travel as needed. You'll play an important role in delivering projects safely, compliantly, and on schedule while supporting ongoing operations.
What a Typical Day May Include
- Reviewing project schedules, cost forecasts, and design deliverables
- Developing scopes, specifications, routing, and facility layouts with cross-functional teams
- Reviewing drawings and Bills of Material for accuracy and compliance
- Participating in HAZOPs and safety reviews
- Supporting construction activities in the field and troubleshooting operational issues
- Evaluating contractor bids, supporting AFEs, and managing costs
- Collaborating with Operations, Finance, Commercial, and Procurement teams
- Documenting progress, updating drawings, and supporting hydraulics modeling

Position Requirements
Required Qualifications What You Bring to the Role
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, or Petroleum preferred)
- 3–5 years of experience in oil & gas, with exposure to pipelines and facilities design, construction, and operations
- Proficiency with MS Office, project management software, and engineering design tools
- Experience with engineering, project management, and construction management tasks related to oil and gas projects
- Experience with Hydraulic and/or Process Simulation software for pipeline systems or processing plants
- Experience with equipment such as pumps, separator vessels, filters, meters and tanks. Awareness and understanding of equipment sizing methods
- Understanding of various industry design codes for pipelines and facility piping design and construction
- Experience with material specifications, generating Bills of Material, and procurement of materials
- Experience with project construction contracts including creating Scope of Work and navigating the bidding process
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects at once
- Self-motivated, accountable, and comfortable working independently or on a team
- An interest in engineering principles and eagerness for continual growth in problem-solving skills
- Blend of office work and field presence (up to 50% field time)
- Exposure to outdoor environments, high-pressure pipelines, chemicals, noise, and heavy equipment
- Occasional climbing, kneeling, crouching, and lifting (up to 15 lbs)
- Frequent travel (up to 50%) to field locations within the U.S., including overnight stays
- Flexible schedule required, including occasional work outside normal business hours
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required
