The Project Delivery Manager is responsible for leading, planning, and executing all levels of commissioning, L1-L6, for our large industrial generators. Position responsibilities will include new project kickoffs, providing feedback to engineering regarding technology integration, onsite supervision and support. Vendor management, and customer supply chain interaction. The position requires strong technical and cross-functional expertise, business acumen, superior people leadership skills, exceptional project management experience, proficiency in systems-level communication, knowledgeable on EPCs, construction, and contracting firms.
Essential Duties
- Scope Management: Define and manage project scope through a responsibility matrix, ensuring all deliverables are outlined clearly and modifications are documented and approved.
- Project Planning and Execution: Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of technical projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives. Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
- Point of contact: Act as the primary point of contact for all project stakeholders, providing regular updates, status reports, and risk assessments. Ensure that expectations are aligned and any changes are communicated promptly.
- Team Leadership and Collaboration: Coordinate and collaborate with internal teams (Sales, Engineering, operations, Service etc.) and external partners, fostering effective communication to ensure project milestones are met.
- Budget and Resource Management: Oversee project budgets, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently and within budget. Track project costs and forecast future spending needs.
- Risk and Issue Management: Proactively identify and address risks and issues that could impact project timelines or quality. Implement mitigation strategies and ensure stakeholders are informed of any challenges.
- Quality Resolution: Work with internal departments to provide resolution for onsite quality issues.
- Continuous Improvement: Contribute to process improvement initiatives by identifying areas for optimization and implementing best practices for project management and delivery.- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or 7+ years of equivalent work experience
- CAPM
- Project Management Certificate, or other formal Project Management education
- 3 years of progressive work experience in engineering, project engineering, project management, product management, or related new product development field
- 3 years of project management experience and strong background of making data driven decisions
- Strong understanding of electrical power generation concepts (paralleling, load banks, switchgear, UPS, ATS)
- Ability to read and understand project technical specifications, wiring diagrams, electric schematics, and flowcharts
- Understanding of generator sizing principles and Tier compliance (Uptime Institute)
- Knowledgeable of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems in Data Centers, and Critical Infrastructures
- Understanding of commissioning levels (L1-L6) and Integrated Systems Testing in Data Centers and Critical Infrastructures
- Awareness of construction planning and permitting, processes, subcontractors, coordination, inspections, and project closeout
- Knowledge on codes and standards: NEC, NFPA 110, UL 142, UL 6200, IEEE, ISO 8528, AHJ requirements, etc.
- Knowledge of environmental regulations such as Tier 4 compliance
- Change Order Management
- Professionalism in escalating issues, documentation, and communication
- Working knowledge of Saleforce and SAP
- Ability to present with strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage a large, diverse technical workload in a fast-paced work environment
- Frequent and extensive travel to job sites during critical phases like rigging, generator startup, testing, and commissioning
