This role supports the Electric division by leading the expansion of Knobelsdorff’s mission critical presence in the data center market. You’ll be responsible for cultivating strategic partnerships, identifying early-stage project opportunities, and positioning KE as a trusted provider of electrical and utility solutions in the 5–15MW data center segment. Success in this role means owning client relationships, guiding project pursuit strategy, and fueling long-term growth—all while upholding KE’s commitment to Safety, People, Passion, and Performance. You’ll be part of a team that gets things done, works with purpose, and takes pride in the results. Your day-to-day responsibilities may include:
- Identify and pursue growth opportunities in the 5–15MW data center space
- Develop new client relationships with data center developers, colocation providers, EPCs, and general contractors
- Lead early-stage discussions around design-build delivery, electrical scope, and site strategy
- Partner with estimating and engineering to align client needs with tailored solutions
- Support proposals, RFPs, and RFQs with compelling messaging and value propositions
- Represent KE at data center conferences, events, and networking forums
- Deliver presentations and executive briefings to industry stakeholders
- Maintain accurate CRM reporting and pipeline tracking
- Monitor industry trends and provide input on long-term growth initiativesYou’re someone who shows up ready to work hard, learn fast, and contribute to a team that takes pride in doing things right. Successful candidates typically bring:
- 5+ years of business development experience in construction, data centers, or mission critical infrastructure
- Strong existing network of clients and partners in the data center sector
- Understanding of electrical systems including medium voltage, UPS, generators, and power distribution
- Experience with the design-build project delivery model
- Ability to communicate technical concepts in a clear, business-focused way
- Track record of building client trust and securing long-term partnerships
- Strong organization, CRM fluency, and follow-through on sales activity
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
- Involvement in industry organizations and events is a plus
- Military leadership or technical background (e.g., Navy Nuke, Seabees, Air Force Power Production)
- Experience in electrical contracting, integration, or utility-scale infrastructure
- Familiarity with cast-in-place or precast is a plus
