Job Description Position Overview
As a
Project Coordinator – Product Developmentyou will play a central role in guiding projects from
concept through validation. You will be responsible for coordinating cross-functional activities, ensuring that engineering, supply chain, prototyping, and testing efforts are aligned and on schedule. This position emphasizes development project planning, logistics, and development milestone tracking while supporting technical teams in executing prototypes, validation, and process readiness. The ideal candidate combines strong organizational skills with technical awareness and thrives in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment. A background in mission-critical product development is a strong plus, bringing valuable insight into component selection, validation, and manufacturability.
Key Responsibilities
- Support engineering teams with BOM management and documentation coordination.
- Manage end-to-end prototype builds, including materials, logistics, and lab/test scheduling.
- Coordinate and track cross-functional activities across design, engineering, supply chain, prototyping, and testing to ensure milestones are met.
- Monitor validation testing progress, ensuring alignment of resources, procedures, and schedules.
- Act as liaison between engineering, lab/test teams, and manufacturing to refine test plans and processes.
- Support issue resolution during prototyping and validation, including troubleshooting and corrective action tracking.
- Maintain clear project documentation (action trackers, dashboards, meeting notes) and provide regular status updates.
- Contribute to lessons-learned and promote standardization of project coordination practices.
- Master’s or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field; or equivalent practical experience. - 3+ years of experience in project coordination, new product development, or engineering operations.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with a high attention to detail.
- Familiarity with engineering documentation (BOMs, drawings, ECOs) and prototyping workflows.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and support processes for new product manufacturing.
- Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, or equivalent).
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across functions.
- Background in renewable energy, materials engineering, or mission-critical product development.
- Knowledge of stage-gate or agile product development methodologies.
- Experience supporting supply chain collaboration and component coordination during development.
- Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
